RATES AND RESERVATIONS

DAY TRIPS

Katmai Half Day Bear Viewing Trip - $525/per person*

Katmai Full Day Bear Viewing Trip - $650 and $725/per person*
*Rates include air transportation from Homer, National Park Fees and sales tax. The higher rate for Full Day trips is charged for float planes.

MULTI-DAY TRIPS

Groups-$275 per person/per night - 2 night minimum is stay required.*
*Rates shown are per person based on double occupancy and does not include any applicable taxes or air transportation. Rates include all meals, guide service and camp stay.

Singles-$330 per person/per night - 3 night minimum is stay required.*

RESERVATIONS

Booking your trip early allows you to choose the dates and length of stay that are best for you! When planning your trip dates you should allow for one “buffer” day prior to your departure and two “buffer” days when returning. These “buffer” days are to allow for any weather delays and by incorporating them into your schedule you can have a more relaxed trip.

PAYMENTS


Day Trips

A 50% deposit is required within 10 days of making your reservation. Final payment is due at the time of your trip. We accept Visa, MasterCard, money orders and traveler's checks. Checks should be made payable in U.S. funds to AK Adventures, Inc.

The deposit is fully refundable up to 31 days prior to trip or if AK Adventures cancels the trip because of weather. Within 30 days of your trip date, the deposit is non-refundable and no refunds will be given on cancellations. We do recommend that you purchase travel insurance.

Once we receive your initial payment, AK Adventures' Day Trip Cancellation Policy is in effect. If you cancel your trip, you will be responsible for any charges billed to your credit card by AK Adventures, Inc. as stated below, see Cancellations and Refunds.

Cancellation By Client for Any Reason Prior To Trip Date
If the cancellation occurs prior to 31 days before your trip date, you will receive a full refund. Within 30 days of your trip date the deposit is non-refundable and no refunds will be given on cancellations. Again, we recommend you purchase travel insurance

Cancellation Due To Weather
There shall be NO CHARGE for trip cancellations by AK Adventures due to weather. AK Adventures is not responsible for any additional costs that may be incurred by weather delays or cancellations due to weather. Every reasonable attempt will be made by AK Adventures to reschedule your trip whenever possible.


PAYMENTS


Multi-Day Trips

To reserve your space, send a 50% payment within 10 days of booking your desired dates. Final payment is due May 15. Reservations made after May 15 require full payment. The Cancellation Policy is in effect and we recommend that you purchase trip travel insurance.

AK Adventures’ deposit and payment policy is required due to the following reasons: The area is very remote, logistics are planned months in advance, the groups are small and low volume, and Alaska's travel season is short.

We prefer payment be made by check or money order. However, we do accept Visa, MasterCard and traveler's checks. Checks should be made payable in U.S. funds to AK Adventures, Inc. Payments should be mailed to the address below:

CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS


Multi-Day Trips

Cancellation for Any Reason Prior To Trip Date
If the cancellation occurs prior to 121 days before your arrival date, you will be charged a 50% cancellation fee per person. Within 120 Days of your arrival date NO REFUND will be allowed on cancellations prior to trip date for any reason once the trip is booked. Again we recommend you purchase travel insurance

Cancellation Due To Weather Delay Prior to Arrival at AK Adventures.
There shall be NO REFUND for cancellation due to weather delay because of weather prior to arrival at the camp. AK Adventures is not responsible for any additional costs that may be incurred by weather delays or cancellations due to weather. Every reasonable attempt will be made by AK Adventures to provide an extended itinerary to replace weather lost days whenever possible.

Weather Caused Delays Departing AK Adventures
There shall be NO CHARGE to clients for weather caused departure delays from AK Adventures for lodging or guides at AK Adventures. Every reasonable effort will be made to conduct normal camp activities through the period of weather delay. However, a $25 per day/per person food & preparation cost will be charged for meals provided by AK Adventures in the event of a weather departure delay. AK Adventures will not be responsible for any additional costs to clients that may be incurred as a result of a weather delay.

AIR TRANSPORTATION

AK Adventures will schedule your flight for day trips or to our camp after you make your reservation. AK Adventures has negotiated special rates for our clients with Homer Air.

Homer Air – Phone Number 907.235.8591. Homer Air is located at 2190 Kachemak Drive in Homer. The allowable baggage weight is 65 pounds maximum per person or a combined total weight of 250 pounds per person including personal gear.


TRAVEL INSURANCE

AK Adventures strongly recommends that you purchase travel or trip insurance after booking your trip with us. The company and contact information listed below is for your convenience. Please check with your travel or insurance agent for other policy options. Trip cancellation insurance will reimburse you for any non-recoverable air or land expenses should you have to cancel your trip due to personal or family illness and possibly cover any evacuation expenses should you become ill during the trip.
